As a former competitive Olympic style weightlifter in college, being active has always been a part of Lesley Thalman’s life. Lesley’s Y story started after moving to Lexington in 2012 for her husband to attend medical school. Lesley’s friends encouraged her to join the YMCA and she hasn’t stopped coming since.
“I love seeing people I know weekly. My three kids also love Kids’ Corner!” Lesley commented.
“Being in medical school, we don't make a lot of money. I am thankful for the YMCA's programs to help people in lower incomes join the Y and allow their children experiences that they might not be able to receive. I am excited for the day that we can contribute to those funds to help others,” she added.
“The friendliness of the staff" is what she appreciates most about the YMCA.
On Mondays, you can find Lesley in her favorite group exercise class, Triple Threat at the C.M. Gatton Beaumont YMCA. “Working out next to friends” hands down is what Lesley said she enjoys most about the Y.
“We just LOVE the YMCA!” she stated.
