FIND THE GENIUS WITHIN
Power Scholars Academy™ is a free four-week summer learning program run in partnership with the YMCA of Central Kentucky, Fayette County Public Schools and Building Educated Leaders for Life (BELL). This program is designed to help advance students’ academic achievement through a full-day summer experience that combines small group, rigorous literacy and math instruction, with hands-on enrichment activities, fields trips and service projects.
It is designed to help students gain new academic skills, strengthen their literacy and math skills, and stay on track so they can enter school in the fall ready to succeed. Instruction is led by certified teachers and supported by teaching assistants. On average, 75% of youth who participate in this program across the nation maintain or gain reading and math skills through the course of the summer. Each child is selected by their school to participate based on his/her current academic need.
The program will run July 20 - August 14, 2020.
