Kick off 2025 with an afternoon of fitness, fun, and wellness at the YMCA! Whether you're looking to explore new exercise options, learn about nutrition, or simply reconnect with your health goals, we’ve got something for everyone at our Jump Start the New Year event on Jan. 5 at the C.M. Gatton Beaumont YMCA.
Event is free for members and non-members but registration is required.

- 1-1:50 p.m. Bodybalance
This is a yoga-based fitness class that combines Tai Chi and Pilates to improve flexibility, strength, and balance with an inspiring modern soundtrack plays in the background. - 2-2:50 p.m. Family Yoga
Move, mediate, strengthen, breathe, and relax using a series of Yoga positions. This class will be geared towards people new to Yoga or want a slower, more gentle class. Open for those 8 years and older. - 3-3:50 p.m. Yoga
Slow flow Yoga: Move, meditate, strengthen, breathe and relax using a series of Yoga postures that are linked with the breath. All levels welcome! - 3-3:50 p.m. Afrobeat Dance Class
Instructors Funmi and Karosi are dance enthusiasts with a passion for leading others. Come join them for a family-friendly Afrobeat dance class that originated in West Africa. - 4-4:50 p.m. Mindful Meditation
Beginner level meditation class focused on reducing stress and anxiety and cultivating mindfulness. Participants are invited to meditate lying, seated on the ground, or seated in a chair. Instruction will be provided concerning meditation techniques and the benefits of the practice. - 1-5 p.m. Partner Exhibits
CHI Saint Joseph Health - Rehabilitation Services will be sharing information about their rehabilitation services and offering fun activities for kids along with University of Kentucky Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) sharing information about health, nutrition, and educational resources for adults 50+.
