Growing up in Ashland, Kentucky, Keith Baker remembers going to the Ashland YMCA to play basketball as a kid. Today, Keith and his wife Nancy, reside in downtown Lexington where he has lived since graduating from University of Kentucky College of Law.
We asked Keith what he appreciates most about the Y and he stated, “The consistent positivity which is always projected by staff and fellow members. I truly cherish the friendships that I have developed here.”
Just last year, Keith encouraged Nancy to finally join the Y. In the early mornings on weekdays, you can find Keith and now Nancy exercising at the High Street YMCA.
“I was lost during the months when the High Street YMCA was closed. I currently miss so many members who have not yet returned and definitely encourage them to do so as the entire facility is completely sanitized and members are extremely respectful of others with strict adherence to social distancing and wearing face coverings!” he commented.
Keith enjoys spending his time working in his yard with flowers and perennials. He is also an avid fan of music and enjoys attending concerts. “Unquestionably, my family and friends bring me the most joy and happiness!”
Thank you, Keith and Nancy, for being part of our Y community.
