Any individual who wises to donate time and talent to the Black Achievers program. Y staff will help to identify ways volunteer can be involved with the program that aligns with their strengths.
Professionals and practitioners who can lead and facilitate an intensive curriculum at least twice a month in a classroom-style environment that may involve lectures, field trips, hands-on learning, and more.
Any volunteer who commits to completing a minimum of 40 hours, in any capacity, of volunteerism in a program year.
Member of a 30-member board who guides Y staff on non-operational programming and is a community champion for the program and YMCA. *Required to commit to 40 hours of volunteerism
Volunteer who assist with the overall operation. Assistants may contribute to on-site coordination, recruitment, field trips, follow-up, and more.
Mentor/Tutor will pair with any number of students to provide advisory and academic assistance. Mentor/tutor will be trained and offered opportunities to learn mentorship and techniques.
Small committee to help with specialized projects such as interviewing and scoring senior portfolios.
