ABOUT THE SWIM TEAM

Welcome to the home of the Beaumont Barracudas Swim Team (BYB)! Operating out of the C.M. Gatton Beaumont YMCA in Lexington, Kentucky, we are a year-round competitive swim program dedicated to developing athletes of all ages and skill levels. 

Fall 2026/Winter 2027 Season 

New Members

• All new members must sign up for an evaluation prior to registration. Please fill out this form to add your swimmer to our Fall/Winter 2026 evaluation waitlist.
• Attending an evaluation does not guarantee a space on the team. The evaluation will allow the swim coach to see their abilities. 
• Evaluations are free and do not require membership to attend.

Our Mission

We strive to build confidence, character, and community through the sport of swimming. Through structured training, our athletes learn vital life skills including teamwork, discipline, time management, and sportsmanship.

The Season

Our season runs from mid-September to mid-March. We offer our swimmers the unique opportunity to compete in both USA Swimming and YMCA League meets, providing a well-rounded and exciting competitive experience. 

Requirements

• YMCA Membership: Participants must have an active YMCA of Central KY membership at the time of registration.
• Eligibility: Swimmers must attend an evaluation (for new requests) or be a returning member of the YMCA of Central KY swim team. 

Fees & Financial Information

• Group Placement: Team fees are based on group placement and will be shared once your swimmer is placed.
• Deposit: A $100 non-refundable deposit is required. It is included in your total balance and is not eligible for financial assistance.
• Due Date: Total fees are due on September 15, 2026, unless you are on a payment plan.
• Support: Financial assistance and flexible payment plans are available.
