Thank you to New Vista for supporting our Back to School Rallies!

At the YMCA of Central Kentucky, our mission is to strengthen the foundations of community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

We believe that building a better future starts with showing up — for kids, for families, and for one another. That's why partnerships like the one we've built with New Vista are so meaningful.

New Vista's commitment to behavioral health and well-being aligns naturally with the Y's work. They share our belief that community is built through purpose, compassion, and connection. Together, we're able to do more, reach farther, and help create brighter, healthier futures for everyone in Central Kentucky.

One of the most impactful ways we've teamed up with New Vista is through our Back to School Rallies, which provides students with the materials they need for a successful school year. But in reality, these events go far beyond school supplies. They're about creating welcoming spaces where financial challenges don't stand in the way. Instead, families can focus on helping their kids gear up for their best school year yet.

New Vista's team has shown up in a big way for this impactful event. They engage, listen, and support, whether it's offering resources, a kind word, or simply being present.

"It wasn't just about school supplies. It was about showing up for the community, creating a sense of belonging, and making sure every child felt seen and supported. That memory sticks with us, and it's why we're proud to partner with the YMCA year after year," said Crystal Sicard, New Vista's Public Relations Specialist.

Working with New Vista has shown us what's possible when two mission-driven organizations align. Their focus on behavioral health and wellness complements the Y's broader vision of whole-person health. From young children just starting school to adults improving their well-being, New Vista helps extend the reach of our programs and deepen our community impact.

Mental healhth support is an essential part of community care. If you or someone you know is struggling with thoughts of suicide, mental health, or substance use, dial 988 — the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline — for free, confidential support available 24/7.

We're excited to work alongside New Vista to find new ways to servce Central Kentucky. The future of our communities depends on strong collaborations like this where organizations unite around shared values and a common goal of creating opportunity for all. We see the good ahead.
