Our Annual Celebration of Impact honored volunteers, staff, and organizations for their contributions to our Y community.

At the YMCA of Central Kentucky, our mission has always met at the intersection of spirit, mind, and body. Whether it's supporting children learning how to swim, or helping cancer survivors regain strength and confidence with the help of caring coaches and supportive peers, we're all about creating a community of support.

On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, we hosted our annual Celebration of Impact at the Campbell House in Lexington. This event allows us to celebrate the meaningful impact that the Y made over the past year alongside partners, volunteers, and supporters.

The evening began by recognizing the history of the YMCA in Central Kentucky, led by former board chair Daryl Smith. Smith reflected on the YMCA's deep roots in our community and its evolving role in shaping a healthier, more connected future. He shared stories of his own family and other community leaders who pioneered YMCA programming for Black youth, reflected on the role the local YMCA played in desegregation and community-building, and encouraged us to lean into progress, think boldly, and envision what the YMCA can become — for all.

President and CEO Paula Anderson and her team honored several exceptional individuals and organizations for their outstanding contributions to the Y in 2024:

At the YMCA, our work has never more important — or more impactful. Every day, we're reminded that we can do more and that we must do more. That's why we remain deeply committed to expanding our ability to serve everyone in our community, It means breaking down barriers, creating welcoming spaces, and ensuring the Y continues to be a vital, vibrant part of Central Kentucky for generations to come.

This important work wouldn't be possible without the heart and dedication of our Y community. To our donors, volunteers, and staff: thank you. Your support fuels everything we do.
