Whether you're looking to explore new exercise options, learn about nutrition, or simply reconnect with your health goals, we’ve got something for everyone at our Jump Start the New Year events taking place Jan. 4-5 at all four Lexington YMCA locations.
These events are free for members and non-members but registration is required.

- 8-11 a.m. Exercise "Speed Dating" Event
Get a taste of everything the Y offers with our exercise "speed dating" event. Test out our classes, meet the instructors, and make some new friends. Classes will be offered in 25-minute sessions. There are 16 class formats to choose from: Aqua Fitness, Cycling, TRX, Yoga, CORE, Pilates, Barre, STEPIT, BODYPUMP, Surge-Strength, HIGH Fitness, TURNUP, Functional Fitness, Blast of the Day, and Kettlebell. - 8-8:20 a.m. Dietician Talk: Food That Fuels You!
Presented by Brittany Cox, RD from Lexington Clinic, this session explores the importance of balancing carbs, protein, and healthy fats in your diet. This session will be held in the Youth Activity Room. - 8:30-11 a.m. Partner Exhibits

Slow flow Yoga. Move, meditate, strengthen, breathe, and relax using a series of Yoga postures that are linked with the breathe. All levels welcome! - 9:40-10:25 a.m. Mindful Meditation
Beginner level meditation class focused on reducing stress and anxiety and cultivating mindfulness. Participants are invited to meditate lying, seated on the ground, or seated in a chair. Instruction will be provided concerning meditation techniques and the benefits of the practice. - 10:30-11:30 a.m. Yoga
Slow flow Yoga. Move, meditate, strengthen, breathe, and relax using a series of Yoga postures that are linked with the breathe. All levels welcome! - 11:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Chair Yoga
Get ready to move through a complete series of seated and standing Yoga poses. Chair support is offered so you can perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance, and range of movement.

This is a yoga-based fitness class that combines Tai Chi and Pilates to improve flexibility, strength, and balance with an inspiring modern soundtrack plays in the background. - 2-2:50 p.m. Family Yoga
Move, mediate, strengthen, breathe, and relax using a series of Yoga positions. This class will be geared towards people new to Yoga or want a slower, more gentle class. Open for those 8 years and older. - 3-3:50 p.m. Yoga

CHI Saint Joseph Health - Rehabilitation Services will be sharing information about their rehabilitation services and offering fun activities for kids along with University of Kentucky Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) sharing information about health, nutrition, and educational resources for adults 50+.
North Lexington Family YMCA, 1-3 p.m.
Classes will take place in the Group Fitness Studio
- 1-1:30 p.m. and 2-2:30 p.m. Beginner Friendly Fitness
Join Y instructors for an easy-to-follow workout that can be done anywhere with minimal to no equipment necessary. This 30-minute class will feature full-body strength and cardiovascular exercise to help you get started with working out in 2025.
