Available at the North Lexington Family YMCA (coming in late April) and Whitaker Family YMCA, EGYM smart strength machines conduct a strength assessment to find your optimal resistance setting, and will continuously do so throughout your training.

With the tap of an RFID-enabled wristband that you'll receive at your EGYM startup appointment, each strength machine automatically sets the weight level and range of motion for you. A video game-like interface on every machine guides you to move at the right pace with the right form.

When in circuit mode, machines tell you when it's time to move to the next machine to ensure a full workout in 30 minutes or less.

EGYM GUIDELINES

EGYM is an innovative, smart fitness system now available at the North Lexington Family YMCA(coming in late April) and Whitaker Family YMCA! Designed to take the guesswork out of exercise, EGYM’s smart circuit machines automatically adjust to your personalized settings - such as weight, range of motion, and cardio levels - guiding you through a full-body workout in under 30 minutes. 

With motorized machines that target all major muscle groups, EGYM makes it easy to stay on track with your fitness goals. Best of all, it’s FREE for members! A one-time startup fee of $35 is required, which includes a full orientation to get you started. 

 

  • No guesswork - weight, range of motion, and seat height set automatically 

  • Guided pace on screen for safe, effective workouts 

  • Workouts evolve as members gain strength & endurance 

  • Connectivity to Matrix and Life Fitness cardio equipment and SECA Body Composition analysis for even better workout measurement
     

  • A metric showing how the body performs vs. chronological age
  • BioAge improves as members train consistently and complete strength tests, cardio tests, and body composition testing.

Members only need to get started at one location to have access to both. The RFID wristband is compatible with EGYM machines where available.

9 Pieces: Chest Press, Seated Row, Ab Crunch, Back Extension, Leg Curl, Leg Extension, Lat Pull, Shoulder Press, Leg Press

 

  • You must be an active YMCA member and have paid the $35 one-time startup fee, after which there are no additional monthly costs. 

  • An additional cardio and flexibility startup appointment will also be available for interested members for a $25 one-time fee.

  • Wristband replacements are $10 each
     

  • Must be 14+ years old to use EGYM

  • Additional requirements: Members must be 4'11" and between 67 and 330 lbs. Members outside of this range may still be onboarded, but some machines may not be an appropriate fit (Note: minimum height is 5'2" at Whitaker Family YMCA)

  • Appointments are booked in 30-minute increments. To book an appointment, visit the Welcome Desk at any YMCA of Central Kentucky location or book online. 

  • Reservations at the North Lexington Family YMCA will open April 15 and appointments will begin April 30.
     

If you lose your EGYM wristband, you can pay a replacement fee of $10 to get a new one.  The machines cannot be used without the band.
