Caregivers are present to assist or supervise the member and should not use Y facilities or programs for their own personal use or enjoyment. This includes areas such as the gymnasium, wellness center, pool, and program spaces.
The opportunity for a caregiver to accompany a member is an important courtesy we’re proud to offer. However, this privilege may be revoked if the caregiver is observed using the facilities as a member would.
For safety and support, caregivers must stay close to the member at all times - either within arm’s reach or within clear line of sight, depending on the member’s individual needs.
If the caregiver is also a Y member, their priority during the visit must be providing care and supervision. They are welcome to enjoy their own membership benefits at another time, outside of their caregiving responsibilities.
