Thank you for your interest in volunteering with YMCA Black Achievers. A key benefit of Black Achievers is the relationship formed between volunteers and youth during career clusters. Clusters are led by dedicated business and community volunteers who support the program by giving their time and talent to support our young people.

Any individual who wishes to donate time and talent to the Black Achievers program. Y staff can help to identify ways volunteer can be involved with the program that aligns with his/her strengths.
Professionals and practitioners who can lead and facilitate an intensive curriculum at least twice a month in a classroom-style environment that may involve lectures, field trips, hands-on learning, and more.
Any volunteer who commits to completing a minimum of 40 hours, in any capacity, of volunteerism in a program year.
General volunteers may sign up for as many sessions as they would like.
Volunteer who assists with the overall operation. Assistants may contribute to on-site coordination, recruitment, field trips, follow-up, and more.
Member of a 30-member board who guides Y staff on non-operational programming and is a community champion for the program and YMCA. *Required to commit to 40 hours of volunteerism
Mentor/Tutor will pair with any number of students to provide advisory and academic assistance. Mentor/tutor will be trained and offered opportunities to learn mentorship and techniques.
